Join the Rebellious Change movement of transformation: Corporate Speak 2.0
Look, I get it, change is tough as all get out, for real. Sometimes we would rather just stick with what we know instead of trying something new. It is sort of like trying to decide what is for dinner at the end of the day when decision fatigue is in full swing. I understand there are times when we should keep a low profile, but this is different, folks. This movement affects all of us. It affects the way we work, how we treat others, and how business will change in our post-COVID and post-AI world.
We can not continue treating each other like bags of trash, asking people to do mindless work tasks, degrade people, underpay people, and let toxic leaders gain the upper hand. We need to band together and deliver the message that we are not going to take it anymore.
As a leader, I learned the hard way myself. I took what I saw in the corporate world and tried it that way, and got nowhere. People avoided me, they talked about me behind my back, and overall, it was hard to get anything done. I did have the job title and the “status of power,” but I was no more powerful than anyone else. Once I learned that, I began to see the corporate speak for what it was: trash. I don’t have any doubts in my mind that if I had not changed, my world would be dull, lonely, and unproductive. We are humans, we thrive together, we can help each other achieve amazing things, but only if you take a stand.
This movement is for everyone, even the leaders who think they are above it all, will do some good by taking a self-inventory. It is time to say NO, and it is time to say we decide to be kind, courteous, patient, and interested in a better workplace and a better life.
It takes only one of us to spark a fire, but it is up to all of us to fan that flame and keep that fire burning.
